About Me (landscaping and gardening interests, family, hobbies, type of landscape/garden business, etc.):
Five years ago my father started Tyler Pond Supply. I worked with him during the summers caring for the fish and plants. Last Feb he was killed in an auto accident and my mom decided not to keep the store. I couldn't imagine life without it.. he loved it so much.. so I reopened under my own DBA and Tyler Water Gardens was born. We carry everything for your pond or water feature from construction to maintenance to stocking it with plants and fish. I admit there are many parts to this business that I am still learning, but I have been blessed with loyal contractors and suppliers who offer their expertise when I need it. I would appreciate any and all advice in every area of this adventure, from fish to plants to design.. etc.

Hi Shari,

You're right the zone map is hard to discern some areas of Texas! We checked the city of Tyler's website, they have lots of great info, but not the Zone! It looks like you're in Smith County, so the county agent should be able to solve that for you. Keith Hansen is the County Extension Agent-Horticulture and can be reached at:
903-590-2980 -- or -- k-hansen2@tamu.edu

He should know, but if for some reason you strike out there, please let us know and we'll try to research further!

Love the photos you added!

I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of your father! How wonderful that you took over his business! Hopefully, you can network with contractors and other business owners here for tips in continuing to run a successful business! It sounds like you have a great support system in place already!

Join us in the forum and group discussions -- we can all learn from one another!
